On September 28th we are hosting the 9th Annual A Pace for Petey 5K Run/Walk & Jake's Jog event at the Tuscola High School in Tuscola, Illinois. Proceeds have gone towards scholarships and drug awareness programs in Douglas and surrounding communities. We are also in the process of building a recovery home for those in recovery of substance abuse. We hope to make this a memorable event!
This event will feature a 5K Run/Walk for all ages with the hope to bring awareness to overdose and addiction. It is in honor of Jordan "Petey" Scribner, whose life was cut short at the age of 20 on February 17, 2014 by a tragic heroin overdose. It starts in the parking lot of Tuscola High School and finishes with a lap around the high school track, where Petey ran on the track team and played football on the field inside the track.
New this year will also be a kids’ event—Jake’s Jog—following the 5k event. It will be one lap around the high school track for kids 10 and under. This portion of the event is in honor of Jacob Scribner, (Petey’s 2nd older brother) whose life was also cut short from an overdose, at the age of 29 on May 29, 2019.
Our goal is to have their short lives make a difference in other's lives.
